What Is Residential Treatment (RTC)?
Inpatient care provides full-time, medically monitored treatment for individuals facing serious mental health symptoms that can’t be managed in outpatient or home environments. It’s the highest level of care outside of hospitalization.

Real Stories From Those We Serve
I didn’t think I needed inpatient care—I thought I just needed to push harder. But living here gave me what I couldn’t find on my own: safety, structure, and time to finally face things.
Being in residential care felt like taking a breath after years of barely surviving. I didn’t have to pretend I was okay. I just had to show up—and they helped me rebuild from there.
I’d tried outpatient therapy, meds, even IOP. But I was still spiraling. Residential was the first time I felt fully supported—like the floor wouldn’t fall out from under me.
I didn’t come here to be fixed—I came here to figure out how to keep living. And Solara gave me that. Not a miracle, but momentum. Not perfection, but peace.
They made getting there easy, and once I arrived, I knew I was in the right place. It didn’t feel clinical—it felt real. I didn’t need another hospital—I needed time to breathe, think, and feel safe again. Solara gave me all of that and more.
Frequently Asked Questions
Residential treatment is a 24/7, non-hospital level of care where you live on-site while receiving therapy, psychiatric support, and structured programming. It provides full-time mental health stabilization in a safe, supportive environment.
Hospitalization is typically short-term and focused on emergency stabilization. Residential treatment is longer, more holistic, and offers a healing environment with therapy, structure, and time to recover.
Residential care is best for people with moderate to severe mental health symptoms who haven’t responded to outpatient therapy or who need full-time support to prevent hospitalization or relapse.
Most residential stays range from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on your clinical needs, goals, and progress. Some may benefit from a longer stay as determined with your care team.
Each day includes a structured schedule of group therapy, individual sessions, psychiatric care, holistic therapies (like art or mindfulness), meals, rest, and peer support—all within a supervised setting.
